Answers From Raymond Warner!
I received a few questions from you guys over the last week and really loved the responses Raymond gave to you!
Jordan Kettelkamp:
When you first started riding were you scared of flips and crazy combos you do today?
Well when I started I was very scared of flips. It was always the trick that I told myself I was going to do, but then backed out of. But the combos that I do today were always what I was working on the most just because nobody else was doing them.
Lance Nelson:
Raymond, what were your first thoughts when you got offered to ride for Madd USA and to leave ProRide?
When I was offered to ride for Madd I was obviously really stoked but I didn't want to just drop ProRide like a sack of potatoes. I needed an actual real reason to do so. Eventually that reason came around and they couldn't give me as much as Madd could like they said they were, so I went with Madd. Right now, I'm glad I did so.
Connor K:
What drives you to progress and to learn new tricks?
When I was younger, I told myself that I wanted to be one of the better riders in scootering. I have always held myself to that to the fullest. So when I see new tricks being done or those not being done at all, I give them all a shot and see how things go. Usually they go pretty swell, but there have been a few that I probably won't be trying for a while again. haha
Well you guys heard it right from his own words! Keep checking back with Real Scoots Productions for next week's 'Know Your Pro!' Stay Real kiddos ;)

What's in Gascoigne's Head?
Chris Gascoigne, mister superman himself, congratulations on placing 2nd at one of our sports biggest contests! Is this the first competition you have placed in?
Thanks Jake. Well, its not the first comp i have placed it but its the first Major comp i have placed in.
How did it feel to stand next to some of the top riders in the world and know that you are ranked up there with them?
How did it feel to stand next to some of the top riders in the world and know that you are ranked up there with them?
It honestly was really unexpected, It was very thrilling to hear my name announced. It cought me off Guard, In all honestly it felt really good.
I have been riding 9 years in december. What got it started was, My bike had been stolen and i hoped on a scooter and went to my local park. I just kept riding and progressing, I had a lot of fun and thats what this and any sport is about. I loved it so i stuck with it.
So I've seen your videos, got any other tricks besides supermans and scooterflips? ;D Only kidding of course. What would you say is your favorite trick to do and why?

I have several favorite tricks to do right now, One of them being Heelwhips. The trick is so fun and i have found that i can really control it. Another would be 1 foot inverts that trick feels so good and i can click it to the point it hits me everytime.
Last question, I promise. What is the next competition/event we should expect to see you at?
Most likely the next stop of the Exposed tour, This tour is seriously amazing, Dave Ward and Kim Funk are doing an amazing job with it.
Any last words for all the little shredders out there?

The Truth on Beggs
So I thought it would be a great idea to interview another OG of scootering. He is a HUGE name in our sport and this is what he had to say:
Mr. Style himself, first off, how does one get to looking as good as you? What is the daily A.M. routine?
- well children it doesnt take much... i wake up, bake up, and go ride. i love to sleep in past noon. im not very stylish when it comes to fashion. ive always been a hesh scooter dude. thrasher as fuck. hit up the park. if im not hurtin by the end of the day... it wasnt a good ride sesh. everyone in cali knows me for eating shit. getting back up and going for it again. i beat the ramps. they dont beat me.
There has been A LOT of hype going around the internet about how you switched sponsors from TSI to ProRide, along with a lot of people bashing this new sponsor. What exactly is ProRide all about and are they a legitimate company? Also, what is better about ProRide versus TSI?
- well i have been friends with KC for quite sometime... after sd4 when stan left the team i was picked up from them to fill the void. it was a fun little deal... but i never felt apart of a team. dont get me wrong the way sponsors work in scootin is its basically a flow sponsorship, but when my buddy tanner markley talked me into riding for a local team with my friends, plus the opportunity to make scootin my job. how could i pass that up? proride is legit, they just got off to a bad start. give us a chance and we can win your hearts <3
Some people know you as one of the biggest party animals in the scooter industry. Always at raves and going crazy. Why don't you let people know exactly what you are all about when it comes to drugs, legal or illegal.
- you better believe it. i get DOWN. ill party harder than any of you scoot kids. and when your passin out, ill keep going, TRY ME. everyone knows i love to blaze. but believe it or not i see weed as beneficial to me. i got diagnosed with ADD and anxiety and was put on various medications... none seemed to work like weed did. it slows my brain down when its going 150 mph. as for other drugs, yes i admit i did fall off for a little bit, but the way i looked at it... i never used a drug for the high it delivers, but an experience. im glad i never fell into real hard drugs, never tried em. im somewhat of a hippie, a fan of psychedelics. theres nothing wrong with expanding your mind and thinking things a little different. and i do NOT advise anyone to try these. its a personal choice. im glad to say i been trying to clean my shit up and sticking to the natural green stuff ;)
What is scooter riding really all about in your eyes? Have you ever felt like quitting?
- i lost a lot of my scoot friends when i got into the whole "raving" scene cuz they felt i lost it. yet i rode everyday, ALONE cuz no one would wanna sesh with me. it never stopped me from wanting to ride, and i know who my real friends are from it. i cant really hang out with scoot kids, most are just wierd and lame. when i go to the park, i chill with the skaters and bikers. but i will promote scootin. i love the sport, but you kids need to grow up if you wanna become mainstream. stop all the gay remarks and hugs galore for best trick winners. ill knock you out if you try to hug me or play grab ass. be real homies.
BRO SHOT!!!
And last but certaintly not least, is there anything we can expect from Mr. Beggs in the future of scootering?
- this next year we have a lot planned for proride, maybe a little business plan i have going myself. so be ready. you can expect a lot of crazy shit, a lot of crashes. scootin is my passion. i hope that i can stay involved when im too crippled to ride. i hope the sport gets to a level where i can make a career out of this. i wanna learn some business aspects to keep going cuz i dont know anything else but scootin. its my full-time lifestyle. i wanna see full feature films and scoot shops all over the county. maybe start my own crew one day. hate me or love me, but you wont be getting rid of me anytime soon.
Well if you couldn't tell those words were straight from the heart and soul of Jason Beggs then you are crazy. Thank you Jason, you're my boy, and see you at SD5 brutha <3
NOTE: Jason Beggs gets his marijuana completely legally and for medical purposes and RSP in no way endorses the use of drugs.

Some Things to Know About KC
KC Corning i remember seeing you in Razor Video Magazine 1, It said Am gone Pro, So when exactly did you become Professional at freestyle scootering and how did it all start?
The year I turned "professional" was in the year 2002 when I was 15. Razor had 'Team Razor' at the time and it was managed by Ali Kermani. When I learned a back flip at the end of the summer of 2002, Ali asked me if I wanted to be in a Demo that Team Razor was doing and then offered me a spot on the team. I was the first rider outside of California to be officially "sponsored" by Razor. Later that year I got asked to fly to Tokyo, Japan for the 2002 Tokyo Bicycle Expo.
You have been through a lot KC whether it was starting your own company or falling 18 feet on to your head, what do you think is the most amazing thing you have seen or accomplished?
I'd say the most amazing thing I've ever accomplished would be that I have become a well respected and known scooter rider in the sport. Being sponsored by Razor and getting my own full section in RVM4 was pretty sweet. Over three years of footage from Australia to New Jersey, the whole section is some of my best riding. Just being loved for doing what I love is the number one accomplishment for sure.
We all know TSI as the first scooter company to make the one piece deck, how did you come up with that idea and how has Matt Thom been an influence in that project as well?
First off, I had no intention of making a "One-Piece Deck" when I started TSI. When I met Matt Thom that idea was put on the table. literally. I showed him my Modified Pro model he would ask "why does it need to fold?" and I'd say " I don't want it to fold", and it was that simple. Matt then showed me his idea for the worlds first "TSI" and the rest was history. Matt has also made the best fork in the world in my opinion: Thom-Cat Forks. He also drew up the blue prints for the Scepter Bar. So ya, I would say he's had a huge influence on TSI and our products.
KC if you had to chose what would you say is your signature trick and what tricks have you made up in the scooter industry?
I would say my "signature trick" would be my one footed look backs. I started doing that trick years ago. But now I like to do big air look backs to lip slap on the coping. You might have seen me do it in the Cooter Con 7 on the half pipe. Love doing them because they make such a loud slapping noise when I hit my tail on the coping.
Before we say goodbye, what should we expect From TSI and KC Corning this year? Anything ground breaking?
TSI has some big plans for the future. One of them being the Snow Scooter I made last year. It still needs to be fully developed but what I've seen Benj Friant do in his 'season is yours' snow scooter video makes me believe that it could be the next snowboarding. Think about it. I can't say when we will have them available for sale. I have talked to the Windells Snowboard Camp about testing my newest prototype on their side of the Mountain. It's going to be nuts.

Tosh Joy !
So guys, we all know who Josh Toy is, right? If not, do some research. Josh Toy was one of the first BIG names of scootering. He was in so many of the biggest videos of our sport, including RVM 1. We at Real Scoots Productions thought that it would be a good idea to let you know what's goin' on in his mind. Enjoy ;)
Josh Toy, Probably the most popular and well known Rider on Razor if not the World. So Josh you have been riding for ages now, How long ago did you start Freestyle Scootering and what got you into it?
I started a little less than ten years ago. It will be ten years this October. I got into it by chance, actually. I was super into bmx racing and dirt jumping. My trainer from BMX racing started a scootering contest series called USA Scooter Racing. He said if I wanted to ride, he'd hook me up with a sponsor. So he handed me a Just Go and told me to get some tricks. Month later I was riding for SI Scooterwerks and a month or two after that I was riding for Razor.
Josh being in the Scene for so long you have to have seen some crazy shit go down, whats the most craziest thing you have seen? either a trick or a funny experience?
That's kind of a hard question. I've seen things on tour from crazy bums who say they talk to Jesus and Satandance with drunk college chicks in a bar, to Jarret Ried backflipping a childs tricycle. Touring gets pretty nutty depending on where you go. My craziest trip has to be Milwaukee this past month for the 4Seasons comp. Had some shady issues with the airline and hotel. The after the comp, went to a bar with all the guys from Transit 2, met the bum, and some trashy broads getting loose with the bum, had MJ blasting all night. Just drinking and having a good time with the homies.
So Josh you married, I personally wanna know what that's like? Also is their any big news soon to come from this relationship?
Haha, yeah, surprisingly enough I thought we would fight more, but it's been really mellow. Been doing a lot more together. As for news, my wife is pregnant, expecting her due date around Dec-Jan. So that's scary but exciting all at the same time. Only because I still have some growing up to do, but I definitely don't regret it. And it was planned, so.
Razor Exposed Tour, what are you feeling towards this? Also do you think razor has stepped up to the plate for after market parts?
I love the idea. The format is a lot more structured. On top of which, judging isn't so shady anymore. That was always something riders were worried about at comps. If a judge they don't get along with would mark their scores low for childish grudges, or because of favoritism. But the idea is an amazing one. It's something new. And the points standings make it a little more fun also. As for Razor, they have some huge things coming. It's been a really long time coming. I along with KC Corning (when he was on the team), had been trying to get them to build a legit scooter for over eight years now. Which was the idea for the Pro and Ultra Pro. But dumbed down A LOT from what we originally gave ideas for. But now things are about to be shaken up. And I think a lot of people are going to be amazed with what is to come in the near future. If anyone is going to the XW comp this year, you may get a glimpse of what I am talking about.
I know there are many kids out there who look up to you as a rider I know I sure did, whats one thing you would say to a fellow young rider out there today?

I know there are many kids out there who look up to you as a rider I know I sure did, whats one thing you would say to a fellow young rider out there today?
Ride for fun, and don't try to make it a competitive hobby of yours. Because when you start to take it too seriously, that's when you stop having fun. I've had a few situations in my riding career where I nearly quit because I took it too seriously. But I am glad I've stuck with it and just let my riding go where I wanted it to go, instead of what other people want it to be. That's another thing, stay away from trendy tricks. When you go around watching videos and taking them to the park to learn them yourself, it doesn't make you any better of a rider. Push your riding with combos YOU think would be good. Because chances are, those will get you more respect from other riders. And one more thing. DO NOT rush into sponsors, or think you absolutely need one to ride. It becomes more of a job and it's not all easy. The preconceived notion is that you get free parts, wear a t-shirt, slap stickers around and that's it. If you think that, you're severly wrong. It's not only about skill either, personality has a huge part in it also. All riding aside, enjoy life, screw what anyone else thinks or says, and ride to the best of your abilities.
